Mirrorwork

A type of embroidery that involves attaching small pieces of mirror, known as shisha, onto fabric using a network of surrounding stitches. An open-frame stitch, such as a Cretan or buttonhole stitch, is worked around the mirror to secure it firmly to the base material. This decorative technique is a traditional feature of textiles from South Asia, particularly in regions of India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, where it is applied to clothing, wall hangings, and household linens.
