Whip stitch

A basic hand-sewing stitch used to join two pieces of fabric edge-to-edge or to finish a raw edge. The needle passes over the edge of the fabric, creating diagonal stitches that wrap around the seam allowance. It forms a strong, neat seam, often used for appliqué or closing openings.
