Mudcap

A method of blasting that involves placing an explosive charge directly on the surface of a rock or boulder without drilling a borehole. The charge is then covered with a thick layer of mud, clay, or other inert material to confine the explosive force. This technique is used for secondary blasting to break up oversized rocks after primary blasting.
