A machine or device used in textile manufacturing to open and clean raw fibers, such as cotton or wool, by separating them into individual strands and removing impurities. This process prepares the fibers for subsequent carding and spinning operations. Early pickers were mechanical devices, while modern versions are often integrated into automated lines.
