Polygonize
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004404
To undergo the process of polygonization, where a deformed crystalline material forms a network of low-angle grain boundaries. This phenomenon occurs during annealing, allowing the material to relieve internal stresses and recover some of its original properties without forming entirely new grains. The resulting structure consists of small, slightly misoriented subgrains.
