Postuniform
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004440
Describing the stage of plastic deformation in a material that occurs after the point of maximum load in a tensile test. During this phase, the deformation becomes localized, leading to necking or a reduction in the cross-sectional area of the specimen. This localized deformation continues until fracture, indicating the material's ductility limits.
