Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004555
An abbreviation for Power Sum Near-End Crosstalk, a measure of the total unwanted signal coupling from multiple energized wire pairs into a single victim pair at the same end of a cable. It is calculated by summing the crosstalk effects from all disturbing pairs, providing a more realistic measure of performance in a multi-pair cabling system than single-pair NEXT. Cabling standards like ANSI/TIA-568 specify minimum PSNEXT performance values for categories such as Cat 6 and Cat 6A.
