Reformate
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004748
A high-octane liquid product resulting from the catalytic reforming of low-octane naphtha in a petroleum refinery. This process rearranges the hydrocarbon molecules into structures with higher octane ratings, such as aromatics and isoparaffins, without changing their carbon number. Reformate is a primary component for blending high-octane gasoline and is also a source of aromatic chemicals like benzene, toluene, and xylene.
