Resonance
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004805
A phenomenon in electrical circuits where the impedance of a circuit is purely resistive, occurring when the inductive and capacitive reactances cancel each other out. This condition leads to a maximum current in series circuits or maximum voltage in parallel circuits at a specific frequency. Resonance is exploited in tuning circuits for radios and filters.
