RICE

A Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engine, a heat engine that uses the explosive combustion of fuel to push a piston within a cylinder, converting chemical energy into mechanical work. These engines are widely used for power generation, especially in remote or off-grid locations, and as backup power sources. The United States Environmental Protection Agency regulates emissions from stationary RICE units under the NESHAP Subpart ZZZZ regulations.
