Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004942
A type of hand-forged nail characterized by a faceted, petal-like head formed by four or more hammer blows. This distinctive head shape was common on nails made before the 19th century and the advent of machine-cut nails. When driven into wood, the facets of the rosehead provide a strong grip and a decorative, rustic appearance, making them a choice for historical restoration and reproduction furniture.
