Scissors crossover
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005078
A track arrangement of two crossovers laid in an X shape between a pair of parallel tracks, so trains can pass from either track to the other in either direction. It uses four sets of points and one diamond crossing where the two crossovers intersect. Because the crossovers overlap, it needs less track length than two separate crossovers laid one after the other.
