Sleeping table
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005355
A stationary, slightly inclined platform on which finely crushed ore is washed by a stream of water, so that the heavy mineral settles on the surface while lighter waste is carried off. Because it does not shake or oscillate, it differs from a shaking table, which is vibrated to move the heavy minerals along the deck.
