Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007278
A plate or strake in shipbuilding that is tapered or cut short to accommodate the narrowing form of the hull, particularly at the bow or stern. These plates are designed to maintain a smooth surface and structural integrity where the ship's lines converge. Stealers are carefully shaped to avoid abrupt changes in the hull's curvature.
