Steek
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005637
A technique in knitting where a column of stitches is intentionally created and then cut to form an opening in a piece of circular knitting. This method allows for the creation of cardigans, armholes, or necklines in garments that are otherwise knitted in the round without seams. The cut edges are typically reinforced with crochet or machine stitching to prevent unraveling.
