Superheterodyne
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005778
A radio receiver design that converts a received radio frequency signal to a fixed intermediate frequency (IF) before amplification and demodulation. This conversion simplifies the design of the amplifier and filter stages, allowing for better selectivity and sensitivity. Most modern radio receivers, including AM/FM radios, use this principle.
