Thermal analysis
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005953
A group of techniques used to study the physical and chemical properties of materials as a function of temperature. These methods measure changes in properties such as mass, heat flow, or mechanical characteristics as a sample is heated or cooled. Common techniques include differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), which are used to identify phase transitions or decomposition temperatures.
