Virtual

Describing an image or object that cannot be projected onto a screen because the light rays only appear to originate from or converge to that point. Virtual images are formed by diverging light rays, such as those produced by a plane mirror or a diverging lens. A virtual object is formed by converging light rays that are intercepted before they reach their real focal point.
