Cross-complaint

A pleading filed by a defendant in a lawsuit against the plaintiff or a co-defendant, asserting a claim related to the original action. This allows all related disputes between the parties to be resolved in a single proceeding. It can seek indemnity, contribution, or damages arising from the same transaction or occurrence.
