Pari passu rule

A principle stating that all creditors within the same class are treated equally and receive proportional payments if a debtor becomes insolvent. This rule applies in bankruptcy proceedings and other situations where assets are distributed among multiple claimants. No creditor in the same class receives preferential treatment over another.
