Redlining

The discriminatory practice by insurers or lenders of denying or limiting coverage or services to residents of specific geographic areas, typically based on the racial or ethnic composition of those areas. This practice is illegal under fair housing and anti-discrimination laws, such as the Fair Housing Act in the United States. It results in unequal access to insurance and financial products.
