Subcontractor exception
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-003215
An exception to the 'your work' exclusion in a commercial general liability policy. The exclusion removes coverage for property damage to the insured's own completed work, and the exception restores it when the damaged work, or the work it arose from, was performed on the insured's behalf by a subcontractor. Insurers can remove the exception by endorsement, such as ISO form CG 22 94, which eliminates it for work performed by subcontractors.
