Apartheid

A system of institutionalized racial segregation and discrimination enforced by law, particularly in South Africa from 1948 to 1994. This system classified people by race and allocated rights and resources accordingly, leading to severe oppression of non-white populations. The United Nations declared apartheid a crime against humanity.
