Bulk sales law

A body of statutory law designed to protect creditors when a business sells all or a major part of its inventory or equipment outside the ordinary course of business. These laws typically require the buyer to notify the seller's creditors of the impending sale. Article 6 of the Uniform Commercial Code formerly addressed bulk transfers, though many states have since repealed it.
