A group of individuals who share common characteristics or legal interests, often used in the context of class action lawsuits or protected classes under anti-discrimination law. In a class action, one or more individuals sue on behalf of a larger group. Protected classes are categories of people legally shielded from discrimination, such as those based on race, gender, or age.
