Code of Professional Responsibility

A set of ethical rules and guidelines that govern the conduct of members of a particular profession, such as lawyers or doctors. For attorneys, it outlines duties owed to clients, the courts, and the public, covering areas like confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and competence. In the U.S., the American Bar Association's Model Rules of Professional Conduct have largely replaced earlier codes.
