Compensatory damages

Monetary awards granted to a plaintiff in a lawsuit to reimburse them for actual losses or injuries suffered due to the defendant's wrongful actions. These damages are intended to restore the injured party to the position they were in before the harm occurred. They can cover medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
