Actual damages

Monetary compensation awarded to a plaintiff in a lawsuit to cover the direct and quantifiable losses suffered as a result of the defendant's wrongful act. These damages are intended to restore the injured party to the position they were in before the harm occurred. They can include medical expenses, lost wages, and property repair costs.
