Consignment

An arrangement where goods are sent by an owner (consignor) to an agent (consignee) for sale, with the understanding that the consignor retains ownership until the goods are sold. The consignee pays the consignor only after the goods are sold, often taking a commission. This arrangement is common in retail and art sales.
