Contest

To formally challenge a legal ruling, a charge, or the validity of a legal document such as a will or a patent. A party contests a claim by filing a response or motion with the court, disputing the facts or the legal basis of the action brought against them. For example, in probate law, an interested party may contest a will on grounds of undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity, or improper execution.
