Contract of adhesion
Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-001277
A standardized agreement drafted by one party and presented to another party on a "take it or leave it" basis, with little or no opportunity for negotiation. The weaker party has no realistic choice but to accept the terms as offered. Courts may scrutinize these contracts for unconscionability, particularly in consumer transactions or insurance policies.
