Cosign

To sign a document jointly with another person, thereby assuming joint liability or responsibility for the obligations outlined in the document. A common example is cosigning a loan, where the cosigner becomes equally responsible for repayment if the primary borrower defaults. This act provides additional assurance to the lender.
