Covenant marriage

A legally distinct type of marriage available in some U.S. states, requiring premarital counseling and making divorce more difficult to obtain. Spouses in a covenant marriage agree to seek counseling for marital problems and can only divorce under specific, limited grounds. This form of marriage is currently offered in Arizona, Arkansas, and Louisiana.
