Diplomatic immunity

A form of legal immunity that protects diplomats from prosecution under the laws of their host country, allowing them to perform their duties without fear of coercion. This protection extends to both criminal and civil jurisdiction, although there are exceptions, such as for commercial activities outside official functions. The principles of diplomatic immunity are codified in the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
