Joint liability

A legal obligation shared by two or more parties, where each party is responsible for the entire obligation, but the obligee must sue all jointly liable parties together. If one party pays the entire debt, they may have a right of contribution from the others. This differs from several liability, where each party is responsible only for their own share.
