Joint powers agreement

A contractual arrangement between two or more public agencies to jointly exercise powers that they commonly possess. This allows governmental entities to collaborate on projects, share resources, and provide services more efficiently. Such agreements are authorized by state statutes, such as the Joint Exercise of Powers Act in California.
