Life tenant

An individual who holds a life estate in property, meaning they have the right to possess and use the property for the duration of their own life or the life of another designated person. Upon the death of the measuring life, the property reverts to the original grantor or passes to a remainderman. A life tenant is responsible for maintaining the property and paying property taxes.
