Reversion

A future interest in real property that arises when a grantor conveys a lesser estate than they own, retaining the remainder for themselves. For example, if an owner grants a life estate, the property reverts to the original owner or their heirs upon the death of the life tenant. This interest is certain to become possessory at some point.
