Reformation

A legal remedy allowing a court to modify a written contract or other document to reflect the true intentions of the parties when there has been a mistake or fraud. This action corrects the document to align with the original agreement, rather than rescinding it entirely. Reformation is typically granted when the written instrument does not accurately express the parties' mutual understanding.
