Resume inflation

The act of misrepresenting or exaggerating one's academic credentials, work experience, or skills on a resume submitted for employment. This can constitute grounds for immediate termination if discovered after hiring, as it may be considered a material misrepresentation that induced the employment contract. In cases involving licensed professions or government positions, it can also lead to civil liability or criminal charges for fraud.
