Retaliatory measures

Actions taken by one party in response to a perceived wrong or injury inflicted by another, with the intent to punish or deter future similar conduct. In international law, these can include sanctions or tariffs imposed by one nation on another. Within employment law, an employer is prohibited from taking adverse action against an employee for exercising a legal right.
