Spontaneous exclamation

An out-of-court statement relating to a startling event or condition, made while the declarant was under the stress of excitement that it caused. This type of statement is admissible as an exception to the hearsay rule in many jurisdictions, including under Federal Rule of Evidence 803(2). The rationale is that the excitement of the event prevents conscious fabrication.
