Straw man

A person or entity used as a front to conceal the identity of the true party in a transaction or legal matter. This individual holds title to property or acts on behalf of another without having any real interest or control. Such arrangements can be used for legitimate purposes, but they are also associated with attempts to evade legal obligations or taxes.
