Weight of evidence

The persuasive value or credibility of the evidence presented in a legal case, rather than merely its quantity. This concept involves assessing the reliability, relevance, and impact of each piece of evidence in supporting or refuting a claim. Judges or juries consider the weight of evidence when determining whether a party has met its burden of proof, such as proof beyond a reasonable doubt in criminal cases.
