Preponderance

The greater weight of evidence in a legal case, indicating that the facts presented are more likely true than not true. This standard of proof is typically applied in civil cases, where the party with the burden of proof must demonstrate that their claims are more probable than the opposing party's. It is a lower standard than "beyond a reasonable doubt" used in criminal cases.
