Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act

A United States labor law requiring certain employers to provide advance notice of plant closings and mass layoffs. This notice must be given at least 60 calendar days before the event. The Act applies to employers with 100 or more employees, excluding part-time workers, and covers layoffs affecting 50 or more employees at a single site of employment.
