Workers' compensation acts

State laws that establish a system for providing wage replacement benefits and medical care to employees injured in the course of their employment. These acts create a no-fault insurance system, meaning employees can receive benefits regardless of who was at fault for the injury. In exchange, employees typically waive their right to sue their employer for negligence.
