Aitken dust counter
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003421
An instrument used to measure the concentration of very small atmospheric aerosol particles, typically those with radii less than 0.1 micrometers, known as Aitken nuclei. It operates by rapidly expanding a sample of air, causing water vapor to condense on the particles, making them visible for counting. This device provides data on atmospheric cleanliness and cloud condensation nuclei.
