Condensation nuclei counter
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004573
An instrument designed to detect and count the number of condensation nuclei (CN) present in a sample of air. It operates by supersaturating the air sample, causing water vapor to condense onto the CN, which then grow large enough to be optically detected. These counters are used to measure aerosol concentrations, particularly ultrafine particles, in atmospheric research and air quality monitoring.
