Nucleus counter

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007631

An instrument designed to measure the concentration of condensation nuclei or ice nuclei in the atmosphere. These devices typically work by creating supersaturated conditions, causing water vapor to condense onto the nuclei, making them detectable and countable. Nucleus counters are used in atmospheric research to study cloud formation processes, air pollution, and the distribution of aerosols.
